Everyday skills

Occupational therapy for the small tasks that fill a child's day: getting dressed, eating, handling noise and touch, and moving from one thing to the next.

This care is for you if

  • Buttons, zippers and shoelaces are a daily battle

  • Certain clothes, sounds or foods are very hard for them

  • Mornings and bedtimes end in tears

  • Changes in routine feel like too much

What a visit looks like

  • What we do

Your therapist tries tasks with your child through play and watches what makes them easier or harder. Then you agree on a few changes for home and school. Mahnaz Hosseini leads this work.

  • What decides how many visits

What your therapist finds, what your child enjoys and how your child responds. Your therapist talks it through with you and goes over the plan as you go.

  • Who treats your child

An occupational therapist, and sometimes an occupational therapy assistant under their direction. The first visit is about an hour.

    Meet the team
  • How it is paid for

With your plan or by paying yourself. We tell you what to expect before the first visit.

    How fees work
  • Chest pain, trouble breathing, a sudden severe headache or pain, new weakness or numbness, loss of bladder or bowel control, or a fall with a head injury needs emergency care now. Call 911.

Questions about this care

Can you help with picky eating?

We can help with the skills and sensory side of mealtimes. If your child is losing weight or choking, see their pediatrician first.

Do we need a diagnosis to start?

No. You can start with what you see at home. Your therapist explains what they find, and tells you if another professional should look too.
